Watercolor on Arches Watercolor Paper

Final Exam project on drama. I chose to do a murder scene that you wouldn't suspect: A Chinese flower market.

-------
Viewer: Dogbert, what are all those yellow things?????

Dogbert2k4: Seeing as this is set in a Chinese flower market, the yellow things are flower bags. In real life, they are made from yellowed newspaper.

Viewer: Well, what's that blue thing then

Dogbert2k4: A plastic bag

Another note: Apparently, a lot of people think the road is snow. Just for clarification, it's not. It's simply concrete. Think about it, how would they be able to draw a chalk outline....in the snow?

I like the shading, usually water color paintings have really bad shading and it's just a few strokes of color. Nice job.

That's awesome! You should emphasize the chalk mark so that it suits the title more. :) Other than that, good job. Blending water colors usually turns out bad, but not this one!

The chalk mark is actually acrylic paint, but I like the subtlety of it because you really have to look at the painting before you realize something is wrong in Chinatown

i liike it. in my experience, watercolor paintings are usually subdued in tone, but this one is nice and vibrant

Very interesting work. A lot of ideas come to mind when thinking about what this image is about and if it's about anything at all. I really like artwork like that. The colors are wonderful, especially the colors of the umbrellas. Nice composition as well.

Wow, it's beautiful! It's got depth.... and bright colours.....
Watercolour eh? I tried them once, they were very hard to work with, I can't imagine painting something this detailed! I love the umbrella! Great work! And you're right, it looks as good as any DD I've seen.
:bows: Thank you very much.
